Dr. Linda Govel earned her Doctorate of Musical Arts from the prestigious Thornton School of Music at The University of Southern California. While at USC, she studied Piano Performance, Music Education, Music Theory, Music History, and Entrepreneurial studies. Dr. Govel graduated with honors and is a member of the Pi Kappa Lambda Honors Society. She has served on the Music Teachers’ Association of California (MTAC) South Bay Branch board of directors as President, Vice President, and Program Director for the South Bay Branch of the Music Teacher’s Association of California, currently serves as Chairman for the Palos Verdes area of the National Piano Guild and is the US Ambassador for the Royal Conservatory of Music. She is affiliated with numerous professional organizations and has adjudicated for the Music Teacher’s Association of California, the Southwestern Youth Music Festival, Southern California Junior Bach Festival (Complete Works), Armenian Allied Arts Association, and the American College of Musicians (National Piano Guild), just to name a few. In March 2023 she adjudicated for the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) CAPMT Concerto Competition State Finals. Dr. Govel received the prestigious Royal Conservatory of Music Teacher of Distinction award in 2021 representing California and Hawaii. Steinway & Sons of Beverly Hills recognized Dr. Govel by awarding her the Top Piano Teacher Award in 2021. Dr. Govel is an RCM Certified Teacher in both Piano Practical and Music Theory from Prep A to Advanced Levels. Her students have received RCM Center Awards, State Awards, Regional Gold Medals and two National Gold Medals (2022), giving her students an opportunity to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York. In January 2023 she was recognized as a Steinway educational partner.
She is also member of the Board of directors of American Croatian Congress.
