Stella Koletić was born and educated in Zagreb where she graduated from the University of Zagreb School of Dentistry. In 1981, she and her husband moved to the United States. Interested in furthering her training in causes of dental diseases and prevention, she completed a masters program and specialized in pediatric dentistry at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA).
Inspired to share her knowledge after graduation, she continued to teach pediatric and preventive dentistry to new generations of dentists at UCLA. During this time, she established a private practice in preventive and restorative dentistry for children, teaching families about best preventive oral hygiene practices from an early age.
Her efforts resulted in generations of children growing up cavity-free.
During the Homeland War, Dr. Koletić and her husband were active within the Croatian community in Los Angeles, fundraising for humanitarian help and raising awareness of the struggles of Croatian people in the American media which led to the recognition of the new Croatian state.
